Jaki jest największy naturalny skarb Australii ? Oczywiście Kangury :-)  Będąc w Melbourne niewybaczalnym grzechem byłby nie zobaczyć tych pięknych zwierząt z bliska. Niestety mimo tego, że wieczorową porą często wylegują się na obrzeżach miasta, nie udało mi się ich spotkać przez cały pierwszy miesiąc pobytu w Australii. Lekko zniesmaczona tym faktem, postanowiłam nie liczyć dłużej na łud szczęścia i skierowałam swoje kroki do zoo.
W Melbourne mamy do wybory trzy zoo i jeżeli zdecydujecie się na odwiedzenie każdego z nich warto kupić kartę członkowską, która upoważnia do wstępu do każdego z tych obiektów w niższej cenie aniżeli koszt pojedynczego wejścia. What is Australian largest natural treasure? Kangaroos, of course :-) Being in Melbourne, it would be a sin not to see these beautiful animals up close. Unfortunately, despite the fact that they often rest on the city suburbs in the evening, I could not see them during my first month in Australia. Slightly disgusted by this fact, I decded to visit the nearby zoo.

In Melbourne, there are three zoos and if you decide to visit each of them, it is worth buying a membership card, which entitles you to enter each of these zoos at a much lower price than the cost of a single entry. Na pierwszy ogień wybraliśmy Healesville Sanctuary.
W zoo, oprócz osławionych kangurów, można zobaczyć także koale, diabły tasmańskie, wombaty, papugi, dingo, jaszczurki oraz węże. Ponad to, gratką dla odwiedzających, są przygotowywane przez pracowników zoo, performance z udziałem zwierząt. My mieliśmy okazję podziwiać cudowne ptaki, które zataczając koła nad głowami widowni, dumnie prezentowały piękno swojego upierzenia i nieprzeciętne zdolności. Miłym akcentem, była też prezentacja dotycząca kangurów, podczas której uzyskaliśmy wiele ciekawych informacji na temat ich trybu życia oraz wychowywania potomstwa. Dzięki temu wiemy np. że kangury potrafią pływać, a młode opuszczają torby matek dopiero po 5 miesiącach od porodu.  ( torby maja kształt owalny, tzn. typowego koła ;) ).

Our choice was Healesville Sanctuary. In the zoo, apart from the famous kangaroos, you can also see koalas, tasmanian devils, wombats, parrots, dingo, lizards and snakes. In the zoo you can also experience a performances with animals. We had the opportunity to admire the wonderful birds, who, circling above the heads of the audience, proudly presented the beauty of their plumage and extraordinary abilities. A nice touch, there was also a presentation about kangaroos, during which we obtained a lot of interesting information about their lifestyle, growing and raising joeys. Thanks to this we know, for example, that kangaroos are able to swim, and young ones leave mothers' pouch only 5 months after delivery. (and the pouch have an oval shape, like a typical wheel;)).

Zoo zapewnia także możliwość pobawienia się z wombatem czy diabłem tasmańskim, co bezapelacyjnie spodoba się najmłodszym turystom. Fajną atrakcją jest także możliwość karmienia wesoło latających po ogrodach papug.
Dla tych, którzy planują swoją wycieczkę z dziećmi, zapewnione są place zabaw, a także punkt z jedzeniem i ławkami.

The zoo also provides the opportunity to pet with Wombat or Tasmanian Devils, which will appeal to the youngest tourists. A nice attraction is also the possibility of feeding the parrots which are flying happily around the gardens. For those who plan their trip with children, there are playgrounds, as well as a place with food and benches.

Zoo, to ogromny obszar, do którego zwiedzenia śmiało można zarezerwować sobie cały dzień. Mnie w ogrodzie, oprócz samych zwierząt, urzekła roślinność i zachowana w nim egzotyka. Można stwierdzić, iż przestrzeń i prawie nienaruszona ludzką ręką roślinność, zapewnia dla mieszkających tam zwierząt bardzo dobre warunki do życia.

The zoo is a huge area, and you'll need a whole day to visit it. In the garden, apart from the animals themselves, I was fascinated by the vegetation and exotics preserved in it. It can be said that the space and vegetation, which is almost untouched by human hand, provides very good living conditions for the animals living there.
